A group of New Jersey residents who served their communities were honored in Bergen County Monday.
Rep. Josh Gottheimer helped recognize northern New Jersey residents who made outstanding contributions to their community. Among them was Walter Caraballo, a first responder who helped rescued children during the Interstate 80 school bus crash.
“I feel like I did what people should do,” he said. “You should stop and help, no matter what it is.”
More than two dozen recipients were recognized. This is the second year of the event.
