The Neptune Township Committee has decided its time to update it's community alert system. The committee says it's time for the upgrade because the last update was done eight years ago. It says, in the past, the system was spotty and unreliable, and the time is right for a change.A community alert system provides up-to-the-minute information on emergencies in the area, crime prevention tips, and traffic and weather advisories. The system also has information about missing children. The new system is expected to be fully operational by the new year.
