Police in Neptune are still searching for the person who fatally shot a man one month shy of his 20th birthday over seven years ago.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says Andre Thorne, of Bradley Beach, was shot in the chest in the driver's seat of a Dodge Neon around 8:30 p.m. back in February 2016.

Thorne was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he later died. Prosecutors say an investigation found two others were also in the car with Thorne at the time of the shooting on Seventh Avenue.

Prosecutor Raymond Santiago says officials refuse to let the case grow cold.

“It is our sincere hope that those efforts motivate individuals in our community to come forward with any information that they may possess,” Santiago said.

Anyone with any information should contact the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Detective Sgt. Keith Finkelstein at 732-431-7160, ext. 3019 or Neptune Township Detective Carrie Bartlett at 732-988-8000. You can also click HERE.
