Well, today is National Hot Dog Day in news. Tell New Jersey's Tony Caputo is fresh off of steak eating yesterday when he was on best of New Jersey duty. Now he's in New Brunswick at Destination Dogs and Tony, we're talking Gourmet hot dogs here. Gourmet hot dog. We're not messing around. This is Destination Dogs. You think of the destination, they probably have a hot dog for it on this National Hot Dog Day. Jimmy Crock is with us. He is the owner of this fantastic establishment making up these delicious dogs, Ezekiel and LA or making them up for us as well. We appreciate you joining us this early in the morning. Jake. Thank you so much. I mean, you have an incredible variety of hot dogs on national hot dog. We have hot dogs from around the world. That's destination Dogs. We do international hot dogs and domestic hot dogs and every day, a destination dogs is national hot dog there. Exactly. What are you making up there? What are the, these are three locations on our menu. This is our Queen's dog, the Cleo mcdowell. This is our Texas dog. It's called the Waco Kid and this is our Chicago dog. It's called the Chicago Bull. These are some based on classic dogs, some based on recipes that, that we like and inspiration from the regions that they're from, like the FRITO pie in Texas. And I mean, Queens is from the great movie. Coming to America. That's our inspiration for this dog. That's part of the fun. I mean, I was talking to you about the bread and how much I love the bread. And I mean, I call it a Texas toast. You said it's a brioche bread, right? Yeah, it's a brioche bun. It looks a lot like Texas toast. But the reason why we love it for our dogs is it, you know, it allows a dog to be the star of the show and stand up on its own and it's just something that looks great and like I would say you eat with your eyes, right? So you really want this to be the star of the show. And fortunately for us, these dogs really are, you know, it's crazy. He just, he just keeps going, keeps building it and building it and building it. This is so much more than a hot dog. Crazy. When do you come up with the ideas? You say you travel a lot? I mean, yeah, I mean, me and my business partners and my wife, we all travel to bunch and we're just inspired by people's food and cuisines. And I mean, we really like hot dogs apparently. Um So like the Chicago dog is something that's standard for Chicago. It's like our take on it. It's not on a poppy seed, steamed bun, but it's, it's our bread that we use for it. So we didn't make that up. That's something that's perfect. And you can't like, you can't make perfection better that uh this, you know, the rest of it is just inspired by the places we've been and the stuff that we really like and real quick. You, you also do some sausage sandwiches as well as hot dog. Yes, we make a lot of the sausages in house. Uh, but like it's not national sausage game, but one of them is called the Achilles. The Achilles meal. That's a lamb sausage. Be food with gyro topping and Sima and Nick with the, the Achilles. You can only eat down to the heel that last part. You can't eat that part. Ok. Somewhere along the line. I became the eating guy. So I may as well take advantage of this right destination dogs. That's where we are right now in New Brunswick. Fantastic place. Amazing bar as well. Yes. Bar with your hot dog little drink. Not too bad. I like that. Jimmy Crock is the owner, Jim. Thanks for the time. We appreciate it. Hey, they're cooking them up for us on this National Hot Dog Day. But every day it's National Hot Dog Day here, got Ezekiel and Alario cooking them up back there as well. What do you got for us this time? And you have so many varieties of hot dogs that you've been making for us. We saw some last hour. We're seeing some this hour. What are you making right now? So, the two destinations we're gonna go to right now are Alabama, which is called our Reuben Studdard and our Kansas City. Uh Alabama is known for their Reubens, but we're gonna do it. Uh It's called the Ruben Studdard. It's basically a Reuben on a hot dog. Uh The Kansas City is that Kansas City pulled pork and coleslaw on top of a hot dog stuff they're totally known for. So this is uh these are the two destinations we're making for you right now. The Reuben Studdard is um American Idol. Right. What? He finished third or fourth. Like that was a while ago. That's great. And so we have a hot dog. We have sauerkraut, we have 1000 island dressing and we're gonna top that off right now with some cheese. This is so much more than a hot dog. What's your number one seller? You have so many choices. What's the number one? I would say the traditional chili dog, the, the cyclone, which is just a a, you know, it's a Texas wiener. It's just a hot dog with chili on top. It's delicious and it's definitely one of our best sellers. Oh, that is amazing here in Kansas City and we're gonna put this on top of the pulled pork. I'll tell you what if you want to put one of those uh Reubens on a little plate or just turn around. I'll, I'll try and take a bite of that. That is, that's a lot to handle though. That's a, that's a big dog this right here, right? That, that is crazy. I I'm gonna try. Should I do it here? Yeah, you wanna give me another plate or something? I mean this is insane. Look at, look at that. Is that not National Hot Dog Day? Perfection or what? Thank you, sir. I shake that. I'm going in boy. Oh my God. That was awesome. Thank you. Wow. Hey, look, I don't know how long I'm gonna have this body with this job anymore because this is all I do was eat. But this is one way to go. I'll tell you that. A hot diggity dog. It is National Hot Dog Day in news through New Jersey. Tony Caputo, fresh off of his steak, eating on best of New Jersey duty is now in New Brunswick to eat some hot dogs. Tony. These aren't just any hot dogs though. I mean, these are, these are special, impressive, creative hot dogs. Nick. I'll tell you, I just ate that Reuben dog that I took a bite of when we were alive. Last hour I ate that whole thing, man. I'll tell you it was delicious. We should have National Hot Dog Day every day and that's what it is here at. Destination Dogs. Jimmy is the owner Jimmy Crock and he's got his guys working with him covering up this beautiful, what do you call this? The Thunder dog is that? This is a New Jersey dog. Call this the Trenton Thunder. This is a hot dog, pork roll, egg and cheese with some tomato pepper jelly. That's our little twist on it. Um This is a dog that we're extremely happy with and customers love it. Also, I'm a big supporter of the Trenton Thunder baseball team. So go Thunder. That's the pork roll, which is amazing, right pepper jelly. You know, we have a special guest eater here for you as well as you make up this thunder dog for you. Make so many great varieties of dogs. You finished that up. I'm going to kind of slide out here and let you guys have some walking space as you bring it out to our special guest eater. He's out in the dining area, which you know is the bar. This is a fantastic place, destination dogs. And there he is, this is our director, Matt Wisner who worked the first couple of hours doing this shot for us and now he gets to eat for us. So, Mattie, thanks for stopping by. We appreciate it. This is the thunder dog dude. How, how's this for national hot dog? This is pretty amazing. I got to say this place is fantastic. They must have known I was coming with the Mets banner. Well, today is National Hot Dog Day and Nick, I have to tell you, there are hardly any times. I'm truly jealous of Tony Caputo. I am now he had steak yesterday on Best of New Jersey and he has hot dogs this morning. Tony is on a good run here. Let's get out to Tony Caputo now as we get a Oh man. Look at this line up here. Take it away, Tony. Wait, what line up you talking about, Nick? You talking about the hot dogs or you talking about uh Sam Norm and Cliff sitting at the bar here. Destination dogs. I mean, it's so much more than hot dogs, but it's hot dogs. Destination hot dogs as we've seen all morning on this night, Hot Dog Day. We pulled our own director, Matt Weisner out to come out and try these out. You loved what you've eaten so far, huh? That was fantastic. Uh Jimmy, what did we have the first time? That was the uh, you had the thunder. That was your first experience. So that was Taylor Ham, egg cheese on a hot dog. Some people call it pork roll. I'm gonna call it Um, it was amazing. I finished the whole thing. Not sure how we're gonna try something else. Now, Jim, how many varieties you have here? Not just National Hot Dog Day, every day. It's National Hot Dog Day, every day here at Destination Dogs International Hot Dog Day as well. If you can't make it down here for National Hot Dog Day, I definitely recommend going to your favorite hot dog spot and definitely supporting them. But if you're here these new destinations, we got that one in the middle. That's the Waco kid on the end. That is our Texas dog. The one in. Yep, the one in the middle is called the Showtime. That's our Anaheim dog. Um That is a hot dog, hoisin sauce, avocado cucumbers, wasabi mayo jalapenos and cilantro is that after. And this here uh that last one is called the seven layer dip. That's actually uh from Alder. It's our Star Wars dog. Uh but it's kind of like a seven layer dip. So it's cheese sauce, black beans, nachos, guacamole, sour cream, PICO de gallo, black scallions. You take care of everyone and every ID like nachos on a hot dog, it is nachos on a hot dog. You're killing it, man. I'll tell you what everybody back at the station bring back hot dogs. Matt, you can take them back, hot dogs, you take them back. I mean I try do it, do it right now while we're still in there. Try the Waco kid. So that like a FRITO pie, hot dog, chili cheese sauce, jalapenos, sour cream scallions. Let's get after this. Wow, good luck that, that is a bite right there. I can see why Sima and Nick and James and Lauren. Why they'd all be jealous because this is the way to go, man. After I finished chewing. Um amazing, incredible flavor.
