Police rescued a woman from her burning home in North Caldwell allegedly set ablaze by her estranged husband.Police responded to a frantic call from the woman?s friend around 3 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived the house was ransacked and two fires were burning out of control. They say they found 36-year-old Jesus Manuel Reza in the basement trying to have sex with his ex-wife inside the burning home.Sergeant William Texas and Officer John Lynch are being heralded as heroes. They say when they got to the basement the victim ran up and hugged them. Officers say they knew the couple had problems because they'd been called to the home before, but neighbors say they never thought anything like this could happen. Police say the couple has a young son but the boy was in Reza's home in New York at the time of the incident. The toddler was brought back to New Jersey to his mother unharmed.Reza faces more than a dozen charges for attempted murder and sexual assault. He is being held in jail under one million dollars bail.
