A music awards ceremony will be held at the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music this weekend.
The center is located on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch.
“Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music is the official repository for Bruce Springsteen’s written works, his music, photographs, items, other memorabilia,” says the center’s director Eileen Chapman.
The awards ceremony will take place this Saturday.
“We wanted to do an annual evening that spotlighted musicians, music, music excellence and have that connection to the Bruce Springsteen archives,” Chapman says.
Thus, the first-ever American Music Honors will be held. The music icons being celebrated include the E Street Band’s Steven Van Zandt, Darlene Love whose popular rock ‘n’ roll Christmas tour brings her to New Jersey each year, Sam Moore of the group Sam and Dave and singer-songwriter Steve Earle.
Springsteen will be among the presenters. The event will feature live performances by each honoree.
The event is sold out and is a fundraiser for the archive.
