Multiple streets to be closed Friday for Newark’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade

The City of Newark is holding its annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Friday.

The City of Newark is holding its annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Friday. Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé says some roads will be closed through the afternoon for the festivities.
The road closures are as follows:
• Halsey Street between Bleeker Street and Central Avenue (south side at Central Avenue, across from Kilkenny Alehouse)
10 a.m.
• Mulberry Street between Market and Green streets
• Lafayette Street between Broad Street and McCarter Highway
• Columbia Street between Edison Place and Green Street
• Liberty Street between Lafayette and Green streets
• Edison Place between Broad Street and McCarter Highway
11:30 a.m.
• Mulberry Street between Market Street and Raymond Boulevard
12:30 p.m.
• Mulberry Street between Raymond Blvd. and Center Street
• Center Street between McCarter Highway and Broad Street
• Central Avenue between Broad Street and University Avenue
• Clinton Street between Broad and Mulberry Streets
• Beaver Street between Market and Clinton Streets
• Commerce Street between McCarter Highway and Broad Street
• E. Park Street between Park Place and Mulberry Street
• Park Place between Raymond Boulevard and Center Street
• Rector Street between McCarter Highway and Broad Street
• Washington Street between Raymond Boulevard and Washington Place
• Washington Place between Washington and Broad Streets
Fragé says that all closure times are approximate. He thanks the residents of the city for their patience during the event.
