The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has announced a crackdown on drivers who have not paid tolls, revealing that 66 individuals are now banned from using MTA bridges due to unpaid tolls and fees totaling over $700,000.
The top offender among these drivers reportedly owes $200,000 in unpaid tolls alone.
To address the issue of toll evasion further, the MTA is collaborating with the New York Police Department to target what they refer to as 'ghost vehicles' – cars that are unregistered, uninsured, or stolen.
