A Baltimore mother and her boyfriend are accused of leaving her special needs child alone in a Freehold hotel while they went to an amusement park.
Days Inn housekeeper Virginia Cirdozo says she opened a hotel room door with a do not disturb sign because she thought the customer had already checked out. However, Cirdozo says she found a 5-year-old boy alone without air conditioning on a 91-degree day. The child, who has cerebral palsy, was also hooked up to a machine that provides nourishment.
Police say Latoya Debose ignored her duty as a mother to have fun while visiting New Jersey. Debose?s son, his half-brother and half-sister are now in protective custody. Debose and Eric McCutcheon could face up to 10 years in prison.
