Students at Montclair State University will be joining those heading to the polls on Tuesday, and some of them say they are highly focused on issues like reproductive rights and student debt.
"A lot of students are really passionate about abortion rights and maintaining those rights in New Jersey," according to student Sam Macpherson, who says she helped start the school's Planned Parenthood chapter last year.
Mariel Pegan, assistant Dean for Student Engagement, says voter turnout reached 71% at the university in the last election cycle.
Part of the reason, she added, is the administration's focus on signing people up to vote. "We are doing voter registration at games, at homecoming, the library, the cafeterias. So wherever students are, we are trying to be there."
