Montclair is preparing for its annual Walnut Street Fair. This is the eighth annual event.
The fair is happening Sunday from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. Walnut Street will be closed and filled with nearly 300 participating vendors from Grove Street to Forest Street.
Organizers say that most businesses will find unique ways of getting involved, including curating special menus or activities for the kids. The event is free.
“This is a big fundraiser for us. We'll have a dunk tank, ambulance tours, selling swag because ambulances cost a lot. We'll have a coffee bar, selling mugs,” says Kristin Ryan, director of development and public information officer for the Montclair Ambulance Unit.
“Super exciting, last year we had a great turnout. A great day for business,” says Jason Rosenthal, owner of Brick and Dough.
The Walnut Street Festival is typically held every May but was rescheduled to Sept. 29 this year due to rain in the spring.
