Another Montclair State University student is facing child porn charges. The U.S. District attorney says Sean Lynch, 21, of Summit was arrested and charged with distributing images of child sexual abuse.
The district attorney says the explicit videos were found linked to an IP address from his home and dorm at the university. From Nov. 9, 2022, through Nov. 14, 2022, Lynch allegedly used an instant messaging mobile application to distribute to other individuals 72 videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, according to the district attorney.
On Monday, 21-year-old Keyon Luff of Edgewater Park was arrested on campus for allegedly possessing and creating child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM) involving children he contacted online, Attorney General Matthew Platkin announced.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the university said, "The alleged behaviors are nothing short of abhorrent, and do not align with the mission and values of Montclair State University."
Lynch appeared in Newark federal court on Tuesday and was released on $100,000 unsecured bond, with home detention and electronic monitoring, the district attorney said.
Lynch could face up to 20 years behind bars if convicted.
