Monmouth County is once again leading the state in early voting tallies with locations open from now through Nov. 6.
It's the second year in a row that the county has led the state in early voting numbers. Officials report that more than 10,000 votes have been cast in Monmouth.
"Anyone can vote in early voting as long as you are a registered voter, and you did not apply for a mail-in-ballot or cast a mail-in-ballot," says Monmouth County Clerk Christine Hanlon.
There are 10 strategically located voting locations in the county. One site is the Adelphia fire station in Howell.
Voters like Sandy Lax of Manalapan say they take advantage of early voting because it's easy and there are no lines.
Polling hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
