Mix of ice, rain falling across NJ; could make for dangerous morning commute
Mixed precipitation is falling this morning across New Jersey, with ice to the northern parts of the state, rain in the central, and nothing for the southern parts – and could make for a dangerous morning commute.
Winter storm warnings are in effect until 6 p.m. for Sussex and Warren counties, and flood advisories are in effect for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem counties.
Winter weather advisories are in effect until 10 a.m. for eastern Bergen, eastern Passaic, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, western Bergen, western Essex, western Passaic, and western Union counties.
News 12 Meteorologist James Gregorio says temperatures Tuesday will be in the high-30s, with periods of snow, sleet and rain changing mainly to rain for the remainder of the day.
The extreme northern parts of the state will see 2-4 inches of snow to mix, a coating to two inches of snow to mix before it changes to rain for the central parts, and mainly rain for the southern parts.
Temperatures overnight will be in the low-30s, with mostly cloudy skies and breezy conditions.
Wednesday is expected to see temperatures in the mid-30s, with mostly sunny skies. Breezy conditions will remain.
