A Millburn art gallery is now open for viewing after flooding from Ida delayed the process.
Chef-turned-artist Jesus Nunez is the owner of J Nunez Gallery. He is best known for his culinary work, but turned back to the visual arts during the COVID-19 pandemic. He sometimes uses his kitchen tools as paintbrushes.
“For me, it’s easy to control it, because my hands were working for 30 years with these tools,” he says. “If I took a knife right now, I know how to do this because I’ve been doing it for so long. If I can use a knife to cut paint, I will use a knife to cut paint and create something, and maybe one day I do it.”
The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
