A Middlesex County yoga studio is offering outdoor classes while gyms across the state await a reopening date.
The owner of Hot Yoga Revolution in Metuchen says that they have to “go with the flow” to find new ways to offer classes during the pandemic.
“A typical class would be between 15 to 50 people all in a room sweating together between 95 to 100 degrees,” says owner Danielle Mojo.
The studio began outdoor classes now that the weather is getting nicer and warmer – providing practice for people who want a good workout.
“It’s a power practice. It’s vigorous, physically. We flow from pose to pose,” says Mojo.

But Mojo says that changing the format hasn’t been completely smooth.
“The changes we’ve had have been getting permissions from the town; of course, sharing our space with other studios and businesses that need to use outdoor space as well… the weather,” Mojo says.
But those taking the classes say that they are just glad to get back to yoga.
“It’s basically been my therapy. It really gets your body moving, as well as your mind more at peace and kind of slowing down,’ says Courtney McDermott, of Highland Park.
Hot Yoga Revolutions offers outdoor classes every day of the week – weather permitting.
