Two men who destroyed prized irises at a Montclair memorial garden were ordered Friday to pay restitution and write apology notes.William Poris and Gideon Korn-Wyatt, both 19, used golf clubs to whack more than 150 prized irises at the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens a year ago. The two had spent the night drinking. A judge ordered the youths to pay $17,000 in restitution and write public apologies.The gardens' acting director expressed satisfaction with the sentence. She felt the men were remorseful. One of the teens even expressed interest in doing volunteer work at the gardens.
