The men accused of beating an off-duty New York City police officer at a Bronx White Castle were back in court Wednesday. Officer Eric Hernandez was fatally shot by another officer during the January incident.
The defense attorneys for the men asked the judge to drop the indictments against their clients. The attorneys claim the district attorney?s office withheld some evidence during the grand jury proceeding. The judge decided the case will not resume until August 1.
Meanwhile, the Patrolmen?s Benevolent Association (PBA) president claims the defense attorneys keep trying to push back the case to come up with excuses for their clients. The PBA president says he and other officers will be in the courtroom every time the men go before a judge to support Officer Hernandez?s family.
