A man from Mays Landing was charged with murdering his mother, Atlantic County prosecutors announced.
Officials say the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to a 911 call at Quinn Avenue Wednesday around 11:30 p.m.
When police arrived at the scene, prosecutors say 74-year-old Melba Daly, of Mays Landing, was found dead inside the home.
They say her son, 53-year-old Sean Daly, was arrested. He was charged with murder and weapons offenses related to the death of his mother. He is currently in the custody of law enforcement and is awaiting a detention hearing.
The Atlantic County prosecutors and the Hamilton Township Police Department are investigating the incident.
