A massive fire broke out inside a North Brunswick warehouse Wednesday afternoon, sending smoke shooting into the air which could be seen for miles.
News 12 New Jersey is told the warehouse contains mattresses, construction materials and even propane tanks.
Thick plumes of black smoke could be seen for miles when the fire initially started, and flames were seen shooting out of the building. The flames seemed to have subsided by Wednesday evening, but crews remained on the scene.
People who live near the warehouse say they heard loud noises around 4 p.m.
“Just a bunch of the propane tanks exploding and just the fire setting ablaze so quick,” said Jackie Cusmano.
Cusmano says her family was evacuated as a precaution.
Fire officials say the residents will likely be able to return to their homes Wednesday night.
No injuries have been reported.
