The Maple Syrup Festival took place today at Happy Day Farms in Manalapan, where visitors explored The Sugar Shack and took in the aroma of warm maple syrup.
Although New Jersey isn’t often associated with maple syrup, a few key locations in the state produce it — including this farm.
“We collect this sap water from the maple trees, we use an evaporator, we boil the sap water and then we make the magic happen — it becomes maple syrup,” said Timothy Stockel, owner of Happy Day Farm.
Visitors can enjoy views of the 130-acre farm and browse the general store at The Sugar Shack. Admission is $18 per person.
