Police say officers fatally shot a man in Fort Lee Saturday morning.

Authorities say the officers responded to a 911 call from a home on John Street at around 8:15 a.m.

Officers were on scene into the night.

The identity of the person killed was being withheld as of Saturday night.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the killing.

The state attorney general investigates all police shootings.

This most recent shooting comes about a month after another incident rocked the community after federal drug investigation went awry.

In that incident, police shot a suspect after a crash in the middle of the afternoon at a busy intersection.
