Man pleads guilty in death of 12-year-old Genesis Rincon, plus another killing
A New Jersey man accused of killing a 12-year-old Paterson girl with a stray bullet in 2014 pleaded guilty in connection to her death, as well as to the killing of a teenager in 2013.
Jhymiere Moore was put on trial for the killing of Genesis Rincon last year, but a judge declared a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a verdict.
Moore’s attorney Harley Breite says that his client entered a guilty plea this afternoon and confessed to the killing. Breite says that Moore also confessed to killing 16-year-old Ragee Clark in 2013.
Rincon was struck and killed in July 2014 by a stray bullet. Moore and another man, Jeffrey Ellerbee, were accused of firing off shots in the neighborhood where she died.
Clark was shot in March 2013. He died several days later.
Moore faces 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in July. He must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
