Police: Man fatally struck by car in Linden while trying to cross Route 1&9

Police say a 2021 Honda Civic was traveling southbound when the driver hit the man around 1:30 a.m. near South Wood Avenue.

A 41-year-old man was struck and killed by a car this morning while trying to cross Route 1&9 in Linden, according to police.
The man, of Winfield Park, has not been identified. Police say a 2021 Honda Civic was traveling southbound when the driver hit the man around 1:30 a.m. near South Wood Avenue. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Route 1&9 was shut down for several hours in the area. The scene has since cleared.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigator Ryan Zaccaro at 908-474-8505.
