Man charged in murder of his son’s mother has detention hearing adjourned until next week

The man charged in the murder of his child's mother was set to appear virtually before a Union County judge today, but his detention hearing has now been adjourned until Tuesday afternoon.
Tyler Rios, 27, is charged with kidnapping his son and his son’s mother. He’s also now been charged with killing her.
It’s been almost two weeks since an Amber Alert went out across New Jersey after 2-year-old Sebastian Rios and 24-year-old Yasemin Uyar went missing from their Rahway home.
Following a joint investigation by the Union County Prosecutor's Office, the New Jersey State Police, the Rahway Police Department, and the FBI, investigators found Rios in a small town in Tennessee with Sebastian.
Rios was arrested shortly after. Investigators also found Uyar's body in a wooded area nearby. An autopsy ruled her death a homicide.
Rios was extradited back to New Jersey. If Rios is convicted of these crimes, he could face up to life in state prison.
