A 27-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly punching a 9-year-old girl outside the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan Monday.

Police say the incident took place at 11:21 a.m. on 5th Avenue and West 59th Street. Police add the attack was unprovoked.

The suspect has been taken into custody. He has been identified as Raheem Ramsarran, of Manhattan. Ramsarran has been charged with assault.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by EMS.
