A man is in police custody after he allegedly held his in-laws hostage in their Paterson home Saturday and shot several of them due to a marital dispute.
Willie Seabrooks, 42, recently moved to Pennsylvania from Paterson, but allegedly kicked in the door of his mother-in-law?s Governor Street house about 7 p.m. Relatives say Seabrooks was distraught because his wife left him and took their three children. They also say Seabrooks was blindly shooting at them while holding his baby and threatened to blow up the house. Police say Seabrooks hit his mother-in-law, who is a heart patient, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. They are expected to recover from the gunshot wounds.
Seabrooks is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning. Police say his mother eventually talked him out of the home.
