The man accused of killing a Jersey City kindergarten teacher appeared in court on Monday.
Cesar Santana is facing murder charges in the death of Luz Hernandez.
Hernandez’s body was found last year in a shallow grave in Kearny. An autopsy revealed that she was strangled and suffered blunt force trauma to her head.

Santana was arrested three days after Hernandez’s body was found.
Hernandez was the mother of Santana’s three children.
