Friday was the second day of memorial services for the late Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver.

Oliver’s body was escorted to the Essex County Historic Courthouse in Newark by a state police honor guard after lying in state in Trenton on Thursday.

A memorial service will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart Saturday in Newark.

Oliver died Aug. 1 after being hospitalized the day before for an undisclosed medical issue. A cause of death has not yet been released.

She was 71 years old.
