Loved ones of Jessica Taylor shared their memories of her following the arraignment of her accused killer, Rex Heuermann – the suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer.

Attorney Gloria Allred, while standing next to Taylor’s mom, Elizabeth Baczkiel, read a statement from Baczkiel, who said she misses how Taylor called her “mommy” and “mama.”

She said, “It is a tragedy she never had children. Jessica would have made a great mother. She loved kids and loved working with them. She worked in the inner city with the kids in summer camp as an aide. She loved supporting kids and helping take care of them.”

Baczkiel said that Jessica was “loving and compassionate and so funny” and loved to make people laugh. She described her daughter as someone who tried “very hard” in school. She said Jessica loved to cuddle with her and her brothers when she was a child. She recounted how they’d all “pile on the couch” and watch television.

Baczkiel said that Taylor will never be forgotten and will forever be in their hearts.

Taylor’s body was recovered in July of 2003 in Manorville and was found decapitated with her hands and arms severed below the elbow and a tattoo obliterated with a sharp object, the DA said. According to the DA, Taylor’s arms and skull were found on Ocean Parkway near the original “Gilgo four” victims.
