NJ Transit police posted photos of the pup on social media and said they are looking for the dog’s owner to help get him home. They say the dog boarded the train at Mountain Station in South Orange around 7:52 a.m.

Officials say the dog, who does not have a microchip, was following an unrelated commuter and rode to Hoboken Terminal. Animal control took the dog to the Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City, according to NJ Transit.
Anyone with information about the owner is asked to contact Central Communications Center at 1-800-242-0236 or 973-378-6565.
