Firefighters from several Monmouth County departments battled a third-floor blaze at a Long Branch apartment Sunday.

Fire investigators say the flames started in a closet inside an Ocean Avenue apartment, though they are still probing the cause. Firefighters were able to put it out quickly.

A married couple and two housekeepers were home at the time of the fire. The wife was rescued off the apartment balcony and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. One of the housekeepers was treated at the scene for a minor burn.
