Jersey Shore beach owners are expecting a lackluster Labor Day weekend.
Many children and families are already in school mode as this year's late Labor Day hits. That combined with this week's fatal drowning in Seaside Heights and medical waste washing up on Long Beach Island could mean the typical Labor Day business boom could be a bust.
"It's been so quiet this week, usually the week before Labor Day is so busy with everybody trying to get their last licks in," says Jerome Beckman, owner of Beckman's On The Beach in Belmar.
