The weather is getting hotter and with some New Jersey State parks losing police personnel there will be no swimming. More than half of New Jersey's swimming areas are closed two days a week. Without police to patrol the grounds, swimmers aren't safe. Officials from the Department of Environmental Protection say they have no choice. A spokesperson told News 12 New Jersey that the lack of police is not driven by the budget, instead it is due to lack of trained police on the job. Some worry about swimmers safety saying if they find the parks are closed, they may swim at their own risk anyway.
