Kimberly-Clark announces Cottonelle wipe recall due to bacteria concerns
Kimberly-Clark has announced that some Cottonelle wipes have been recalled throughout the U.S. and Canada due to a bacteria concern.
The recall is for Cottonelle Flushable Wipes and Cottonelle GentlePlus Flushable Wipes manufactured between Feb. 7, 2020 to Sept. 14, 2020.
It says the affected products could show the presence of certain bacteria, which naturally occurs in the environment and in the human body. The company says that it rarely causes serious infections in healthy individuals, but people with weakened immune systems are at a heightened risk of infection.
Kimberly-Clark asks consumers to contact them at Cottonelle.com and submit a request through its ‘Contact Us’ form. From there, consumers can select whether they are looking for a product reimbursement or if they would like a consumer services team member to contact them.
The company says there is no need to return the product to a store but to stop using the product.
More information about the recall is available by calling 1-800-414-0165.
