A high school football player is making history with key plays and as the first female on the John P. Stevens High School team.
Senior Marcella Iverson became the first to score a two-point conversion for the Hawks and the second in the state.
Iverson says she fell in love with football at an early age but always heard that she couldn't play. That all changed in her junior year, and she quickly gained the respect of her coach and teammates.
When not making plays, Iverson is a scholar athlete who also tackles community projects.
Iverson says she plans to be a business owner. For now, she hopes that other female athletes are inspired by her story.
