Many businesses all around New Jersey are hurting, including restaurants -- many of which are open for take-out and delivery only, and a great event Saturday is going to try to do something about that.

The event is called the "The Great Jersey Shore Take-Out,” and more than two dozen restaurants are participating.

Customers are urged tomorrow to order take-out from their favorite local restaurant, and all money brought in at participating restaurants will be distributed to the servers, staff, and bartenders.
Restaurant owner Bob Fahey came up with the idea with his brother to bring the industry together, and give back to the hundreds of employees of those businesses currently laid off.
"It's an effort to benefit the people who make the restaurants of the Jersey Shore what they are, the amazing and talented staff," says Fahey.
“We are probably doing about 10% what we do normally this time of year,” says Reggie Hyde, with Bar Anticipation. “We are going through the motions, keeping 20-25 staff members getting the place ready for springtime, outside.”
Fahey and the others have also partnered with Fulfill, the food bank serving the two counties. The stipend helps keep their lights on and kitchens open. This event is for those employees waiting for the state to come back to life.
“It's not about them, it's about giving back to the people who work for them and support them throughout the year whether it's the lean months or the heavy months during the summer they support the people that work for them,” says Lake Como Mayor Kevin Higgins.
