Jumping in freezing water is a New Year's Day tradition in New Jersey.
Thousands of people participated in several polar plunges Monday around the Jersey Shore.
At Margate, the tradition has taken place for 29 years. Similar plunges were also held in Atlantic City, Brigantine, Ventnor and Ocean City.
