There was a new song sweeping through America's top 10 80 years ago.
That song, with a distinct Jersey flavor was performed by a little-known group named the Murtah Sisters.
The song, called “The Jersey Bounce,” swept across the nation even inspiring soldiers to name their planes after it.
Famously recorded by Benny Goodman and his orchestra, it spent four weeks as the top song in the country during World War 2, doing Jersey Proud.
