A statue honoring Fair Haven’s volunteer firefighters is getting restoration work after more than two decades on display.

The firefighter statue stands outside the volunteer fire station on River Road in Fair Haven. It was installed in 2004, when the Fair Haven Fire Department marked its 100th anniversary.

The statue was created by renowned New Jersey sculptor Brian Hanlon.

This week, workers with Monument Conservation Partners cleaned the statue and worked to restore its shine so it can continue to stand outside the station for years to come.
