It was 125 years ago on Dec. 6, 1899, that RWJ University Hospital Somerset was founded.

Somerville Hospital, when it was founded, was just a house on East Main Street in Somerville. As the area grew and became more populated, the need for health care grew.

A party was held at the modern hospital Friday afternoon to celebrate the milestone.
