A New Jersey teen who collected half a ton of food for the needy will now serve his country.
Lincoln Park's Michael Zuercher was accepted to West Point. He will start the academy this fall.
News 12 first reported about Zuercher in August 2022. He encouraged neighbors to leave food by their driveway. He collected 1,000 pounds of it for the Lincoln Park Food Bank.
