A beloved lunch spot in Chester, Bill's Luncheonette, faced an uncertain future due to needed repairs. But the community, led by a group of enterprising kids, stepped up to ensure the 75-year-old establishment stays open.
Bill's owners needed $30,000 for a new fridge, broiler and fire sprinkler system. Kids set up a lemonade stand as part of a fundraising effort that also included a GoFundMe page. Their efforts paid off — at last check, they'd raised $41,000, exceeding their goal.
Thanks to this "Jersey Proud" display of community support, Bill's Luncheonette will continue serving its loyal customers for years to come.
