About 60 Jersey City police officers were promoted on Monday.
Of the group, 30 were promoted to the rank of detective, while another 30 or so were promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Mayor Steven Fulop says in part, "We are proud of our officers and confident in their ability to continue to protect and serve our community."
