Students from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine helped provide dental care to children in lower-income families.

This effort is called "Give Kids a Smile Day."

The idea was created by Mary Beth Giacona, who is an associate professor of pediatric dentistry at Rutgers.

The university has the only dental school in the state, and they are helping create lasting impacts for many families who can’t afford dental assistance.

The students recently visited all seven of the elementary schools in Franklin Township, where they served 150 kids in total.

Thanks to this initiative, they are making New Jersey proud one smile at a time.
