As the Democrats take over the reins of power in Washington Thursday, some Jersey City residents weighed in on where they see the future of the country headed.
Fourteen New Jersey Democratic politicians were sworn in, including Congressman Albio Sires and U.S. Senator Robert Menendez. Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi also became the first female speaker of the House of Representatives. Some residents feel Pelosi will surprise a lot of people and do a good job.
Most residents say only time will tell if having Democrats in power will help the situation in Washington. They add they hope the change will make a positive difference.
