A multi-apartment fire broke out Monday morning in Jersey City.
The fire on Roosevelt and West Side Avenue affected three apartments and displaced 14 people, including several children, according to the Red Cross. Smoke alarms were working, according to fire officials.
News 12 New Jersey was told all residents escaped, and no one was injured. A Liberty Tax business is on the first floor. It was not damaged.
The Red Cross said in a tweet that it is helping 16 people from four families and providing emergency assistance for temporary lodging, food, and clothing needs.
