A Jersey City man has been charged with murder after his sister died weeks after prosecutors say he assaulted her during a domestic dispute.

Alerjuan Bradley, 40, of Jersey City, was charged with murder in connection with the death of his sister, Yanesha Bradley, 47, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday.

According to prosecutors, Jersey City police responded to a residence on Woodlawn Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. on April 13 for a reported domestic dispute. Officers found Yanesha Bradley injured, and she told police she had been assaulted by her brother. She was taken to Jersey City Medical Center.

Yanesha Bradley died on June 5. The regional medical examiner determined her cause of death was complications of blunt force injuries and ruled the manner of death a homicide, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors said Alerjuan Bradley was arrested at his residence on July 24 and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
