A Bronx man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly pointing a loaded firearm at two uniformed police officers.
The man, Jeffrey Perez, was arrested by officers Wilbert Hernandez and Cesar Deleon.
The officers say they saw Perez shortly after hearing gunshots. The officers shot at Perez as he fled, but they did not hit him and eventually caught up to him.
The officers say they were able to apprehend the suspect without further incident, at which point they recovered Perez's loaded .22 caliber handgun.
Perez was not injured and has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
The officers were not injured, but they were sent to Jacobi Medical Center for prolonged ringing in their ears.
