A community in Jackson Township is grieving Thursday as the loss of two Jackson Memorial High School students settles in.
Family members and friends of Andrew Miller and his stepsister, Shatone Glover, gathered at a makeshift memorial to remember the teens. Authorities say the two were killed instantly when their car skidded off Freehold Road Wednesday morning. Police say weather, speed and driver inexperience were all factors in the crash.
Glover was a high school junior who step-danced and sang in the choir. Miller was a talented athlete in track and football. Friends say the senior hoped to play football at Rutgers University in the fall. Family members say this is the second tragedy for the teens? father. They say Miller?s mother was also killed in a car crash eight years ago.
Miller?s football coach says the deceased teen?s teammates will wear his number 33 on their helmets in his honor. The team is also in the process of organizing a vigil for the teens on the football field Friday evening.
